The Field of Apple Tree's

Audience: 25-35
Purpose: The purpose of this poem is to create an intellectual relationship between landscapes and living creatures.

Branches branching out to the sky
Contorted and twisted
A true compliment to the eye
The sin of Adam
The fault of Eve
The apple trees
That sway with the breeze
Mocking the world
Stemming from the ground
Not making a sound
But possessing the bark of a hound

They laugh,
Laugh at the humour of human chaos
Never taking a day off

For you see,
The apple tree's have faults of their own
Standing victim to nature
Unable to move
Unable to cry
Only living to die
No one to help
No one to care
Standing naked and bear
Standing alone in the winter air

Humans and trees
Creatures and landscapes
Living together
On a planet that never sleeps
Living as one
Breathing as one
Feeling as one
Without one or the other
Will result in none

  1. There's an odd sense of realism that I really like here. =)
