Audience: 30 - 40
Purpose: The purpose of this piece is to provide a comical glimpse into the thoughts of a young baby. Parents often act based on their own intentions and sometimes fail to remember that their children have feelings and thoughts as well. This internal monologue will hopefully allow young parents to visualize the opinions of their own children.
I can't believe I'm stuck in this green thing again! Mom may think it's cute but I sure don't. I think it's itchy, I think it's tight, I think it's just blah! Maybe if someone made her wear this thing once in a while she would understand. Gosh, I can't even move my legs!
One day, I'm going to get out of this thing and mom is going to be sorry. If she thinks changing my diaper is bad, just wait till she sees what I've left behind in this green cocoon. After all, does she really believe I enjoy being dressed up as a giant vegetable? Maybe if she gave me a giant candy wrapper filled with candy I would feel a little better.
I've always liked candy. Actually, I like anything with sugar in it. Peas on the other hand, aren't as attractive. I'm surprised my dad hasn't said anything about this whole ordeal. Never have I seen him touch anything green, but now his own child is a life sized pea pod and he has nothing to say. All he does his smile and pinch my cheeks. It gets even worse when he starts to speak gibberish to me, I can never understand what he says but it sure sounds funny!
Come to think of it, mom and dad are both pretty funny people. They make their weird faces, blow on my belly, and talk in their made up language. I think they have a lot of fun with me, but that's all going to change pretty soon. Once the costume comes off, they won't be smiling anymore. Hopefully they'll dump the green outfit just like they do with all my used diapers.
