The True Reality

Audience 15-25

Purpose: This piece was written to provoke creativity and thought among young adults.

Reality as we know it, is a lie
The truth however,
Is disguised
It cannot be seen with the naked eye
It cannot be found with a guide

I speak the truth when I say
That dreams
Are the difference between night and day

Sailing the vast ocean of imagination
Unyielding,
Dreams are at the helm of our creation

Reality as we know it, restricts us
The possible is sometimes impossible
And easy is sometimes hard
Yet, In a dream
Impossible is always possible

Looking up in the sky
You can see pigs fly,
Fish cry,
And friends and family,
Who haven't died

Dreams are the elusive truth
Dreams are the true reality

I speak the truth when I say
That dreams
Are the difference between night and day

  1. James that the poem did its purpose but you got to watch your flow. It was choppy in rythem, but other then that it was well written.

  2. It was good. just kidding. I thought the way you dreaming as a metaphor for reality, was pretty sick. It made sense, the way you described that dreams were the difference between day and night, because quite literally, that can be what it is.

  3. I actually like the rhythm of this poem, and the "choppiness" works. :)
